Freddies Kitchen at the Cole is a true hidden gem in Palm Springs. The chef greeted us at the door and made us feel like family right away. Our server, Marco, was warm, friendly, and very helpful. We started our meal with classic French starters: the soupe de poisson and the French onion soup. The entrees were the absolute stars of the night. We made a last minute trip to our desert condo in Palm Springs for the Labor Day Holiday. Friends recommended Freddie's Kitchen to us - and we are super glad they did! It was our first time dining there - and it wont be our last.  We already discussed returning on our next long PS weekend. Everything was delicious but whet really stood out was the creamy seafood bisque, the elk, and how friendly and welcoming it was. We had a bottle of the wine they recommended which was perfect for pairing with our meals. We have a few favorite spots when we come to town - and Freddie's just shot to the top of our list. After a wonderful cocktail, we started with a hot baguette and butter.  Each subsequent item was just superb. The French onion soup was the best I have ever tasted, perfectly balanced. I followed that with the barramundi, pan seared then placed in a delicious sauce with capers. The plates come complete with a vegetable saute and small roasted potatoes.  Do not miss the chocolate mousse which was so light, it should have floated above the table. Chef Freddie and server, Marcos, were generous with their time, explanations and even a few tasty bits on the house. They made you feel as if you were guests in their home. My husband and I were in the area for our anniversary and decided to try Freddie's Kitchen at the Cole. We made a quick reservation online because we weren't sure if they were going to be busy. We were greeted by Marco, he was very welcoming and shared a lot of information with us. We ordered the basket of baguette, French Onion Soup, Chef Special Cod and the Braised Short Rib Rigatoni Bolognaise. Everything was good and seasoned well. This hidden gem is amazing. From the moment you enter from when you leave. The service is Top Notch!! The Food is DEEEEELOCIOUS!! I had to leave a review cause its not often a spot in Palm Springs really WOW's me. It felt like you were at someone's house eating. The Chef actually comes to your table and introduces himself.
